I’ve been interning at drumbi for almost 12 weeks now, and sadly…today marks the last day of my internship. Yup, that’s right, it’s back to the boring city of Raleigh, North Carolina; aka the city with a nonexistent tech scene. Needless to say, my experiences here have been great and I’m going to miss it a lot. At a startup, there are highs and lows, but there is always a lot of energy and enthusiasm in the environment. Personally, I’ve learned a lot of things asides from the new technology. I’ve learned that in everything you say and do, you should always give 100%, while also paying close attention to details and logistics. Because we all know that it’s not just enough to sit and dream, but that action should also follow.
Most importantly, I’ve learned that you should love what you do and do what you love. It might sound like I’m a complete dreamer…but truthfully, I’m not the only one. In fact, I was able to attend a few OC Tech Startup meet ups that was organized by drumbi and a few other Orange County based startups. It was during those times that I realized a lot of other people had big dreams. I don’t think it’s bad to dream, however, I do think it’s bad if you don’t try to make them become reality. To solidify what I mean by this, I want to leave you with a quote from drumbi’s CEO:
“I would rather fail, in a grand, epic flameout of historic proportions, than to have sat back and watched, as others dreamt, designed, built, and hustled” – Shervin Talieh
Keep dreaming, my friends!
